Hard Rock Hotel Penang is set to celebrate its 3rd year anniversary in style on the shores of Batu Ferringhi, Penang on Sunday 16 September with a star-studded pool party featuring Asean pop sensation Mizz Nina and internationally renowned Thai DJ Roxy June.

General manager John Primmer says the hotel has come a long way since it first opened its doors three years ago in September 2009.

“Since opening, we have welcomed about 190,000 guests each year, including an increasing number of Aussie visitors,” says Primmer. “While local Asian interest takes the lead, interest from Australia has steadily increased over the years and account to about 12% of our total business.

“New and repeat visitation from Australia is strengthening as more and more people are learning about our extensive facilities and in particular, our choice of onsite bars,” adds Primmer. “For example, the new Sand Bar featuring some of the best sunset views on the strip has proven to be a major hit from the day it opened in May earlier this year. 

“Our Australian guests find the hotel a funky and comfortable family holiday destination, where they can visit with their young brood and be able to explore new cultures, yet also enjoy their usual western comforts of food options and facilities,” says Primmer. “It’s that element of balance that keeps them coming back.”

Since opening, Hard Rock Hotel Penang very quickly gained its icon status in the Malaysian market and is currently the leading hotel in Batu Ferringhi, thanks to its contemporary design, facilities and overall service.
