Tuesday, 18 September 2012

The Malaysia Festival 2012: A Celebration of Taste and Cultural will take place in Sydney on Sunday, 23 September 2012, and is set to delight Sydneysiders with a mix of delicious food and colourful culture.

The free festival held at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour on Sunday will mark the 22nd annual Malaysiafest since its humble beginnings on the walkway of the University of New South Wales. Famous Malaysian restaurants will showcase mouth-watering Malaysian cuisine at food stalls and visitors will be entertained with a variety of cultural performances.

The Tourism Malaysia Australia-sponsored event is a community and cultural festival organised by the Malaysian Student Community of Sydney, to promote awareness about Malaysia’s cultural diversity. Malaysiafest consistently draws large crowds, with 24,000 people choosing to get their Malaysia fix at the festival in 2011.

Adding to the fun, Malaysiafest 2012 is running a raffle draw, giving people the opportunity to win a variety of great prizes, including a return trip to Malaysia, an iPad 3, Acer Netbook and Xbox 360. To purchase raffle tickets go to http://www.malaysiafest.com.au/raffle-draw/.

With more food stalls, extra performances and some surprises in store for Malaysia fans, Malaysiafest 2012: A Celebration of Taste and Cultural promises to be the best Malaysiafest yet!
