In the capacity of main venue sponsor, Rydges Tradewinds was proud to host this year’s Cairns Tropical Writers Festival held in Cairns at the weekend.

Featuring the likes of Australia’s best-selling author, Matthew Reilly as keynote speaker, events at the hotel included Paronella Park’s Literary Dinner as well as a series of workshops and master classes crossing all genres from social media and crime writing to song writing, short stories and fast fiction.  One very popular workshop was that focussing on the key to comedy writing by Tim Ferguson who rose to fame in the eighties and nineties for the part he played in the Doug Anthony All Stars.

According to event manager, Sarah Collins, Cairns Tropical Writers Festival was delighted to have Rydges Tradewinds on board as main venue sponsor.  Added to this, the hotel also provided accommodation to guest author, Matthew Reilly while offering guest authors and delegates an exclusive accommodation package especially created for the festival.
