Phil O'Brien

Accor has appointed Phil O’Brien to General Manager of Mercure Geelong replacing former hotel General Manager Benjamin Krieg who has moved to Asia for a new posting outside of the company.

Phil has been involved in the hotel industry for over 15 years and has held various operational positions within Accor, including General Manager of Ibis Melbourne, Novotel Melbourne Glen Waverley and Mercure Melbourne Treasury Gardens.

In his most recent role as General Manager for Mercure Melbourne Treasury Gardens, Phil delivered above-market performance following the hotel’s new name and multimillion dollar refurbishment in 2011.

As General Manger of Mercure Geelong Phil is responsible for overseeing the operation and management of the hotel and his prior experience in the Victorian business environment will prove invaluable in his new role.

Stepping into Phil’s shoes at Mercure Melbourne Treasury Gardens is Karen Taylor, former General Manager of Mercure & Ibis Brisbane.
