Bronze Choice Award winners enjoy action-packed tour The 2012 Travellers Choice Bronze Choice Award winners' trip to New Zealand’s South Island was no place for the faint hearted. Ten of Travellers Choice's top agents strapped themselves in for a non-stop adventure that included jet boat rides on the Kawarau River, sightseeing flights over Lake Tekapo and Mount Cook, and 4WD off-road tours of the South Island's rugged high-country. Richard Van Schouwen from Kawana Waters Travel decided he'd also try on some skies for the first time in 20 years. His downhill run ended with a cracked collarbone on Coronet Peak's spectacular slopes. "Luckily the alcohol dulled the pain," reports Richard. This year's journey, organised by Kirra Holidays, included plenty of other adrenalin rushes. Jacqui Jurovic (Balnarring Travel & Cruise) and Brooke Johnstone (Mordialloc Travel & Cruise) both tried A J Hackett's Ledge Swing, which saw them suspended 400 metres over Queenstown. Three other Bronze winners - Tina Holdsworth (Travellers Place), Lisa Mee (Capricorn Travel) and Sarah Schoupp (Ballina Cruise & Travel) – were brave enough to experience A J Hackett's legendary bungy jump. Travellers Choice members compete each year for a total of 30 Choice Awards across three categories – Gold, Silver and Bronze. Awards are presented based on support for key preferred partners. This year's winners will be announced during national retail group's Annual Shareholders' Conference, which is being held in November at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, NSW. |
