Cas and Jonesy to tackle longest distance travelled for a beer, visiting 10 pubs across the far regions of the Top End, in the shortest amount of time. They have crossed the Ditch and the ice, and now adventurers Cas and Jonesy are taking their next challenge to the skies with the first attempt of crossing the Top End on the ultimate pub tour in under four hours. Approximately 370 kilometres will be crossed, and 10 pubs visited in the Top End Ten Tipple Challenge making it the longest distance travelled for a minimum of one cool beverage to be enjoyed at each port of call. This challenge is sure to whet the appetite of adventurous Australians. "We couldn't say no to this challenge; mixing adventure in the sky with a good laid back beer is certainly high on our bucket list,” said James ‘Cas’ Castrission. Helicopter Pub Tours, run by Airborne Solutions, are currently offered in the Top End, however the Top End Ten Tipple Challenge takes the tour to the extreme, as Cas and Jonesy will only have limited time to complete the challenge. "These sorts of tours usually occur over a week long period, however even when we’re relaxing we like to take things up a notch, so will be aiming to complete the trip in less than four hours," said Justin ‘Jonesy’ Jones. “The Territory is well known for its outback pubs. I can’t wait to meet some of the local characters and hear their yarns”. The duo will stop along the way at outback pubs including the famous Humpty Doo Hotel, Wildman Wilderness Lodge and back across to Crab Claw Island and Sky City Casino in Darwin. Cas and Jonesy will also have the chance to meet ‘Casey’ the resident crocodile at Goat Island’s Casey Bar and attempt to offer Casey a meal from behind a much needed feeding barrier. "We will be pressed for time to make around to all ten pubs as is, let alone down a bevvie - but it’s going to be fun challenge,” concluded Justin ‘Jonesy’ Jones. Cas and Jonesy will take the Top End Ten Tipple Challenge on October 9. |
