United announces partnership with Sydney Kings

Tuesday, 16 October 2012

United Airlines is today proud to announce it has signed on as a corporate partner of the Sydney Kings, Sydney’s team in the Australian NBL. The corporate partnership will be for the duration of the 2012-2013 NBL season and will see United’s brand presence at the Kings’ home games, as well as several exciting consumer giveaways through the Kings’ fan networks.

“We’re really pleased to be on board with the Sydney Kings for this upcoming season. With our Australian office located in Sydney and our long history to connect the city and the U.S for more than 25 years, we have a strong link with the city and are excited to be supporting our local basketball team,” said Alison Espley, United’s Director for Australia and New Zealand
“Basketball is experiencing considerable growth in the Australian market at present, and with the strong alignment with US culture, our partnership was a natural fit,” continues Espley.

“ We’re really looking forward to the opportunity to engage with Sydney Kings fans to promote the strong culture of basketball in Australia and the unique synergy with our US destinations – in particular Los Angeles, whose Lakers team shares the same colors as the Kings. We really wish the Sydney Kings the best of luck for the upcoming season – we will certainly be cheering them on.”

Throughout the season, United will be giving fans the chance to win trips to Los Angeles flying with United.  Sydney Kings’ first home game will be on October 12 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
