If food is an important part of your holiday, then you’re going to love Club Med. The French-run resort company has just introduced “All day Snacking” meaning guests don’t have to wait in between breakfast, lunch and dinner if they are feeling peckish. Food, such as pizzas and sandwiches are now available all day long, as well as an open bar, and the best part, it’s all free. “We want our guests to have the freedom to choose when and where they want to eat and not to be tied down to regular meal times,” said Caroline Peuchoultres, Vice President Club Med Asia Pacific. Club Med was the first to introduce the ‘all-inclusive’ package holiday concept back in the 1950’s, a key reason for its success. At Club Med you can leave your wallet at home, or at least put it in your room safe because you won’t need it from the time to arrive to the time you leave. Club Med offers a total package, return airfares, airport transfers, accommodation, an array of activities, Kids Club, all meals including wine and beer, and now ‘all-day snacking’ all for the one price. A typical 8-day all-inclusive package at the luxurious Club Med Phuket resort costs roughly $2,500 per adult and about $1,700 for kids flying Jet Star’s non-stop flights ex-Sydney. Barry Matheson spoke to Ms Peuchoultres at the Phuket property. |
