
The World Airline Awards ™, is renowned for its objectivity. The survey does not receive any outside or third-party sponsorship. It is regarded as the primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction of airlines throughout the world. Worldwide survey interviewed a total of 15,442,605 respondents - with over 97 different passenger nationalities participating in the survey over an 11 month period (August 2007 to June 2008). The survey data was collated from a variety of input sources, including passenger interviews completed online & via e-mail, business research groups / travel panel interviews, corporate travel questionnaires / interviews, telephone interviews, and selective passenger interviews.
In this survey, Asiana Airlines ranked top in 5 categories; Best Cabin Staff Worldwide, Best Economy Class, Best Airline North Asia, Best Cabin Staff Asia, and Best Cabin Staff North Asia. Also, Asiana ranked no. 5 in the Airline of the Year survey.
Skytrax, a research advisor specializing in the air transport industry, which was established in 1989 in the United Kingdom, has conducted product and service quality analysis for the world airlines with unique formats for assessing and quantifying quality standards for over 18 years. The World Airline Survey™ and World Airport Survey™, have both become firmly established during the last 10 years as the most respected, independent, global surveys of airline and airport quality performance.
