An anticipated delay at LA airport on the tenth anniversary of September 11 failed to materialize, allowing for a smooth journey through LAX and upward with Delta Air Lines.

There may be no maple syrup on the menu, but flying with Air Canada is still pretty sweet.

We're leaving on jetplane, don't know when we'll be back again ... and after channeling John Denver, packing up a house and a little of a lifetime, the threat/promise of a long plane journey can make or break a poor girl who's already pretty emotionally unhinged. So thank the stars for Air Canada. From check in to a gorgeous sunrise landing in Vancouver, a long journey was made comfortable and easy with this maple-leafed airline.

Departing new friends and their lovely country, a chesty cough and the fear of a big pile of work to get through: these factors did not stop me from having a good (and productive) flight.

Despite ash clouds disrupting flights to and from Sydney over the past couple of weeks, our Air New Zealand flight was not cancelled, with management opting to fly at a lower altitude, which offered window seat passengers amazing views of the ground below.
