Company Profile

WoRLdviews is the project of Robert La Bua, an independent travel writer who knows gay and lesbian travelers are among the most intrepid in the world, just as likely to be braving the elements trekking in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh as braving the scrutiny of strangers while wearing white at Vizcaya. The WoRLdviews series presents destinations across the globe, some already familiar to travelers who avoid brown shoes with grey pants, others quite unexpected, where gaysbian travelers can have a good time without a cover charge.
Robert La Bua has had more than four hundred articles published all over the world in the past five years. He is the most widely published travel writer in Australia for gay and lesbian readers; his articles have appeared in gay and lesbian publications worldwide, including the UK's Gay Times, Germany's Mate, G in Hong Kong, and Blue in Australia. His efforts to increase international understanding and awareness of gay and lesbian issues through encouragement to travel outside one's native country have garnered him praise and recognition, including an appointment as Cultural Ambassador from Australia by the Swedish human rights organization International Lesbian and Gay Cultural Network.
Robert La Bua was also the most widely published English-language travel writer in China during that country's unprecedented growth in outbound international travel, with his work published in That's Magazines publications in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou during his three-year span as Head Writer of International Travel for That's Shanghai magazine; his work also appeared in the English-language version of national newspaper China Daily on a regular basis. His Runaway section in the now-defunct Urbane, a Beijing lifestyle and design magazine, showcased airlines and airports of the world and is currently parked at Evergreen awaiting recall.
Currently, Robert La Bua is the incarnation of Mr. eTraveler, his internet page reviewing luxury hotels of the world and published on eTravel Blackboard, for which he also writes his WoRLdviews. In his free time, he embraces diversity and writes for such non-gay publications as Aspire, the inflight magazine for First and Business Class travelers of Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates; Bangkok Post's Horizons travel section; Metropolis, Japan's #1 English-language publication; Swedish Bulletin, Sweden's only English-language lifestyle magazine; and Australia's large-format Vacations & Travel magazine.
Whether avoiding the hems of royalty at the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway or the droppings of goats in the highlands of Ethiopia, Robert bypasses the pitfalls of life in perpetual motion and travels the world with rose-tinted glasses, though careful to avoid pinkeye; after all, even Roy G. Biv would agree that pink is only one color in the rainbow of world cultures, albeit one not always immediately visible.
