United Airlines offers daily non-stop services from Sydney and Melbourne (via Sydney) to both Los Angeles and San Francisco. From its major hubs strategically positioned across the US, United and United Express conveniently connects customers to more than 200 US domestic and international destinations. As a founding member of the Star Alliance network (consisting of 21 airline partner members, plus three regional members), United is part of an extensive global network offering a simplified travel process for customers to over 900 destinations in over 150 countries worldwide.

Currently, United is in the process of upgrading its international fleet of wide body B767, B747, and B777 aircraft. Operating the newly upgraded B747 aircraft between Sydney and Melbourne to both San Francisco and Los Angeles return, customers enjoy lie-flat seating in both United Business and United First. In the premium cabins, United offers audio and video on-demand entertainment with more than 150-hours of movies and TV programs, a 15-inch personal video screen and Apple iPod connectivity. In United Economy, United has installed additional LCD screens throughout the cabin, providing customers with a much better view of in-flight entertainment.

United's three classes of service includes: 12 United First 180-degree, 6'6" lie-flat bed seats, 52 United Business 180-degree, 6'4" lie-flat bed seats, and 310 Economy class seats (including 70 Economy Plus seats).

United's Mileage Plus frequent flyer program allows members to earn and redeem miles not only by flying United and United Express, but also with any of its Star Alliance airline partners, to many destinations around the world.
