Air Vanuatu will resume direct International services from Australia to Espiritu Santo, effective 29 March 2010. Flights will depart Sydney to Santo on Mondays via Port Vila. "This is great news for Australians seeking a pristine island destination just a short flight from Australia" said Malcolm Pryor, the airline's Manager Australia. "We had previously decided to operate all services into Port Vila and rely on domestic connections on our new 68 seat ATR72 aircraft to carry customers on to Santo. We'll continue to offer such connections at special fares to international visitors arriving on Air Vanuatu, but arrivals and departures on direct Boeing 737-800 international services are clearly attractive to visitors." Espiritu Santo, immortalized by James A. Michener in his "Tales of the South Pacific" is a favourite of divers and those seeking a tranquil and relaxing holiday off the beaten track. Accommodation on offer ranges from boutique luxury to budget. |
