Exclusive party to celebrate Vietnam Airlines as the tenth member of SkyTeam.

Vietnam Airlines recently became the tenth member of SkyTeam Airlines Alliance and to celebrate all Airlines in the SkyTeam group welcomed the addition in true Vietnamese style at the Lotus Pond Restaurant at Star City Sydney.

"This alliance opens the door to the world as now members of SkyTeam can fly to Vietnam. We are now opening Southeast Asia  and Myanmar which will strengthen the airline and SkyTeams network reach in the region" Mr Tuan Anh Luu, General Manager Australia and New Zealand of Vietnam Airlines said.

Mr Tuan is the new General Manager based in Sydney and is ranked fourth at Vietnam Airlines.  

SkyTeam Airlines Alliance with Vietnam Airlines will now give the growing Australian market a choice of over 850 destinations Worldwide.

"It took two years to become a SkyTeam member and I was there throughout the entire process. There were so many steps to get here today and we are proud of this day and of our alliance with SkyTeam. I hope passengers enjoy our flights as we are bringing Vietnamese culture to the World". Mr Tuan said.

Vietnamese culture was definitely evident as the passionate Vietnam Airlines staff with some having worked with the Airline for over 20 years and special guests, were enjoying the best of Vietnamese food by celebrity Master Chef Luke Nguyen of the Red Lantern Restaurant in Sydney.

SkyTeam frequent flyers can now earn and redeem frequent flyer miles when travelling on Vietnam Airlines. Loyal Vietnam Airlines customers can also earn and redeem points on all SkyTeam member airlines. SkyTeam will be announcing special fares this September which will see a savings of between 30-40 percent.
