Travel and tourism suppliers, buyers and media kicked back on Wednesday night, celebrating the end of Destination Britain and Ireland (DB&I). Over 200 travel industry representatives jumped aboard touring buses from The Big Bus Company and soaked in the spectacular sights of Hong Kong on the way to Aberdeen’s Jumbo Floating Restaurant. Upon arrival, attendees were treated to a set menu of Chinese food and were able to take home a personalised Chinese charm that was made on-site by local artisans. Keith Beecham, VisitBritain Director Overseas Network, thanked everyone for taking part in a hectic but successful DB&I. Beecham also disclosed to attendees that the next DB&I would be held in the Middle East. Tourism Ireland then took attendees to a local Irish pub in Hong Kong’s iconic Lan Kwai Fong strip where industry members drank as much Kilkenny and Guinness to their hearts content.
