New agreement will enable members of the TAM Fidelidade program to accumulate and redeem points on all SWISS flights

Thursday, 25 June 2009

As of now members of the TAM Fidelidade will be able to accumulate and redeem points on SWISS, a member airline of the Star Alliance, in flights to any destination served by the airline – domestic and international flights covering 90 different destinations in 42 countries.

Our Vice President of Sales and Planning, Paulo Castello Branco, says the agreement strengthens the strategy of Service Excellence, one of the three pillars making up the foundation of TAM's activities, along with Technical-Operational Excellence and Management Excellence. "Our passengers will have more opportunities to accumulate and redeem points with this partnership. We are very pleased to announce this agreement with SWISS, which will expand the benefits offered our customers," said Castello Branco.

The partnership is part of a memorandum of understanding that we signed with SWISS in June 2008 to establish synergies between the two companies.  Since last year, SWISS passengers who use the mileage program Miles & More can now accumulate and redeem points on our flights.

In May, we and SWISS also began implementing an operational code-share agreement on different routes out of Sao Paulo operated by us: Santiago (Chile), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre. SWISS passengers leaving Zurich (Switzerland) can make a TAM connection in Sao Paulo to continue their trip to any one of the four cities covered by the agreement. The benefits for customers include simplification of flight reservations, convenient connections with a single airline ticket, and baggage checks through to final destination.
