Relax in a club-like atmosphere

Enjoying Simple Pleasures In Brazil

What can you say about Búzios, one of the most charming little towns in Brazil?  It's fun, it's pretty, and it's quiet or jovial, whichever you wish.  A mere two-hour drive north of Rio de Janeiro, Búzios has been growing as a holiday destination for the international set thanks to the favourable conditions for relaxed fun in a perfect tropical setting.

As Búzios has grown, so has the desirability of its most exclusive areas, with Alto do Humaitá being among the most coveted locations of all.  This teensy bit of cliff has sweeping views of the town centre, the bay, and the fishing boats that come and go as they please.  It is here that Hotel El Cazar is located, above the beachfront promenade, Orla Bardot, named in honour of Brigitte Bardot, she who put Búzios on the map as the Saint Tropez of Brazil and still lives there—albeit in bronze—along the waterfront.

Another airy room at El Cazar

Hotel El Cazar is very much a place to relax, with a number of rooms furnished like an upscale mansion, albeit one where a casual lifestyle prevails.  The main drawing room is full of historic knickknacks from the owner's private collection of artworks, which compete for attention with the most beautiful artwork of all—the sunset.

With a big terrace and pool looking over the bay, Hotel El Cazar easily entices guests to never leave the property.  The friendly staff ensure all is take care of, and the cares of the office are...somewhere else, I can't remember where.

Never mind, they'll show up all too soon.  In the meantime, a pleasant stroll to Rua das Pedras in town will make a typically lush assortment of ice cream available for the eating, with many Brazilian fruit flavours never seen outside the country eliciting groans of pleasure from the customers grateful for the experience.
