France Rail offers new fare which accesses all available seats

Friday, July 03, 2009

Rail Europe has just announced that it has exclusive selling rights to France Rail’s “Easy Access” Passholder product, which allows the owner to access a seat on a train as long as there are still seats available.

Not subject to availability, the new “Easy Access” Passholder fare product allows the non-European traveller to book a reservation on a train as long as there is a seat with no conditions.

“This is significant as it means that people on a France Rail Pass (FRP) now can reserve a seat as long as there is a seat not sold,” said Richard Leonard, Rail Europe Australasia Manager.

Prior to these new fares, Passholder fares have been treated like the sale seats on an airline, book them all out and the fare will no longer be available.

France Rail’s “Easy Access” Passholder fare is exclusive to Rail Europe accredited agents and direct websites.
