Kenya Airways considers leasing several Airbus A330s

With the further delays on the Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Kenya Airways is reportedly now looking to lease several Airbus A330s in the meantime in order to modernise its fleet.

Delivery delays on its nine Boeing 787 Dreamliners means that Kenya Airways won't be seeing its planes anytime soon, as such the Air France-KLM majority owned airline is apparently looking at other ways to modernise its fleet.

"We are talking to manufacturers and others to lease A330-200s for a number of years," said Mohan Chandra, Kenya Airways Commercial Director, to Bloomberg.

"The decision is not yet made," he adds.

Additionally Reuters reports that Titus Naikuni Kenya Airways CEO, that the airline was even talking to Airbus about the possibility of purchasing six to nine aircraft.

Kenya Airways currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft.
