Galileo still preferred with Harvey World Travel
Galileo will be extending its contract with Harvey World Travel as its exclusive GDS provider Australia wide, Travelport announced this week. While Travelport refused to confirm the exact length of the new contract, a spokesperson for the company did emphasise that it was another “long term” contract. Harvey World Travel agents have been using the platform for nearly 20 years. In a statement Shelley Beasley, Travelport Pacific Managing Director, notes, “The latest enhancements made to our mid/back office solution, CrossCheck Travel Enterprise, coupled with Travelport being the only GDS in the region to provide a full service and support centre onshore, demonstrates our “customer first” approach and has helped us with many of our recent significant wins like this Harvey World Travel agreement.” Despite confirming that Harvey World Travel has recommitted to its technology, there’s still no word on how negotiations are faring with Flight Centre. Currently Flight Centre uses Galileo as its GDS platform but is understood to be in the process of evaluating this relationship. |
