Angelic resort opens in Phuket
The travel industry was introduced to one of Phuket’s newest boutique style resorts last week, Dewa Phuket. Dewa Phuket owner Lars Ydmark, visiting Australia last week, told e-Travel Blackboard that Dewa, phonetically pronounced day-wa, translates to ‘angel’ in Sanskrit. And the resort, which has only been open for a year, lives up to its name with its stunning location in Phuket, luxury accommodation and exceptional service. Located just minutes from Phuket International Airport and steps away from Nai Yang Beach, Dewa Phuket is an integration of both a resort and residential living. The resort comprises of 34 resort pool villas and 62 one and two-bedroom apartments which are fully furnished with plasma TV, wi-fi access, coffee maker, rain-shower and bathroom amenities. Guests are also given access to the resort’s spa, large free‐form pool, water-sports centre, fitness centre, kids’ room and recreation centre where there is a collection of books and magazines, internet, table tennis, pool table and bicycles for rent. There are an array of dining options available within and near the resort where guests can experience alfresco dining or sample fresh baked bread and pastries. Dewa Phuket also offers many activities for couples and families, ranging from scuba diving or mountain biking to Thai cooking classes to fruit carving to leaves origami. Ydmark said the resort would focus on attracting small incentive groups and couples from the UK and Germany rather than large tour groups from China to maintain the resort’s secluded ambience. |
