  ::Orion: purpose-built and one-of-a-kind::

Orion has now been taking travellers to Antarctica, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and the far reaches of Australia for some five years, and it’s not often that the vessel can be spotted in Sydney.

So with the announcement that it was to be soon joined by sister ship Orion II in 2011, and paired with the convenient fact that it was in Sydney Harbour (the first time since 2007) for the day, e-Travel Blackboard thought we'd better get on board for a quick site inspection.

Set to depart on a chartered weeklong cruise down to Hobart Orion Expedition Cruises threw open the doors for a few hours on Thursday.
