Innovation - Leading Technology
Air Canada is recognised as an industry leader in innovation, particularly in self-service and mobile technology. The company launched apps for Blackberry and iPhone to allow passengers real-time access to a wide-range of flight information including; retrieving electronic boarding passes, tracking flight information, receiving notification of itinerary changes and obtaining other details about Air Canada flights. It was the first airline in the world to introduce 2-D electronic boarding passes (on mobile phones and handheld devices) and is continually refining and expanding its existing products to better meet the needs of customers.
Australian passengers can choose their seat and check in online. They just need to then head to the "online check in" counter at Sydney Airport to bag drop and collect a 'hard copy' of their boarding pass before they board.
