Melbourne Heart FC to take part in Hawaiian Island inaugural Soccer Event

Some of the world’s top soccer stars will be on Oahu for the inaugural Hawaiian Islands Invitational, an international soccer event that will be held on Feb. 23 and 25, 2012, at Aloha Stadium.

Through Hawaií Tourism Authorities  sports marketing program, we are pleased to support Major League Soccer (MLS) and ESPN Regional Televisions (ERT) inaugural tournament. The tournament will feature four games over a two-day period and will host the four teams, Melbourne Heart FC from Australia’s A-League, Colorado Rapids from the MLS, Yokohama FC from Japan’s J-League,and from the K-League – Busan I-Park from South Korea.

Sporting events such as the Hawaiian Islands Invitational help to increase the state’s sports presence on a globally competitive level; diversify the visitor experience; provide opportunities for residents; and highlight our Hawaii  to the world.   

The Hawaiian Islands Invitational will be broadcast on ESPN3.com and on numerous ESPN International networks.
